Refund and Cancellation Policy

The version applicable to each booking is the version in force on the date the deposit is paid.

This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to all bookings made with:

2. Scope and acceptance

This policy applies to all tour packages offered by Enduro Adventure Portugal, including Epic Adventure, Adrenaline Rush, Adventure Express, the North to South Expedition and bespoke programmes.

By making a booking and paying the deposit, the client confirms that they have read, understood and accepted this policy and the Enduro Adventure Portugal Terms and Conditions.

3. Payment structure

Tour packages are paid in two instalments:

Payment of the 30% deposit confirms the booking and secures the place in the group, accommodation, motorcycle, equipment and technical support for the agreed date.

4. Cancellation by the client

4.1. Non-refundable deposit

The 30% deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances. It covers administrative costs, accommodation reservations, allocation of the motorcycle and equipment, guide scheduling and other operating costs incurred from the moment the booking is confirmed.

4.2. Transfer to another date

Instead of cancelling, the client may transfer the booking to another date if all of the following conditions are met:

• Minimum notice: the written request must be received at least 30 days before the original date. Requests made with less than 30 days’ notice result in the full loss of the deposit.
• Use period: the replacement date must fall within 12 months of the original date. After this period, the booking expires automatically.
• Subject to availability: if the new date falls in high season or the chosen package has a higher price, the client must pay the difference before confirmation.

A date transfer may be requested once. Any further request is subject to prior review.

4.3. The 70% balance

As the 70% balance is paid only on the first day of the tour, it is not charged when a booking is cancelled beforehand. The client loses only the 30% deposit already paid.

5. No-show and late arrival

A no-show is the client’s absence from the agreed meeting place and time on Day 1 without justified prior notice.

In the event of a no-show:

• The full 30% deposit already paid is lost;
• There is no right to transfer the date or receive future credit;
• The place is considered permanently cancelled.

Arrival more than four hours after the agreed Day 1 start time, without justified prior notice, will be treated as a no-show.

6. Withdrawal during the tour

If the client decides, for personal reasons, not to complete the tour or to stop participating after it has begun, no full or partial refund will be due.

Personal reasons include, without limitation:

• Tiredness, fatigue or physical discomfort not caused by an accident during the activity;
• Voluntary withdrawal because of subjective dissatisfaction;
• Injury caused by recklessness or failure to follow the guides’ instructions;
• The rider’s technical level being unsuitable for the terrain;
• Behaviour incompatible with group safety, including alcohol or substance use;
• Personal, family or professional reasons unrelated to the company’s operation.

7. Cancellation by the company

Enduro Adventure Portugal may cancel or change tours in exceptional circumstances, including extreme weather, widespread fleet unavailability, failure to reach the minimum of two participants, legal or regulatory restrictions and force majeure.

7.1. Cancellation before the tour begins

If the company cancels the tour before the start date, the client may choose:

• Full refund: 100% of all sums paid, including the 30% deposit;
• Full credit: 100% credit for another date, valid for 24 months.

7.2. Cancellation during the tour

If the company ends the tour after it has begun, for reasons attributable to the company or because of force majeure, the client is entitled to a proportional refund:

Refund = (total amount paid ÷ total tour days) × uncompleted days

Examples: Adventure Express (3 days, €1,399) cancelled after Day 1 → approximately €932.67. Epic Adventure (6 days, €2,250) cancelled after Day 2 → €1,500.

7.3. Limitation of liability

Any refund is limited to sums paid directly to Enduro Adventure Portugal. The company is not responsible for external costs such as flights, additional accommodation, visas, car hire or other personal expenses.

8. Force majeure

Force majeure events are unforeseeable and unavoidable events outside the reasonable control of both parties, including pandemics, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, widespread transport disruption, border closures and decisions by public authorities that prevent the tour from taking place.

In a force majeure situation, the company will offer full credit (100%) towards a future date, valid for up to 24 months, instead of a cash refund.

9. Travel insurance

Enduro Adventure Portugal strongly recommends taking out individual international travel insurance that includes at least:

• Trip cancellation for a covered reason;
• Medical and hospital expenses abroad;
• Medical repatriation;
• Specific cover for off-road motorcycling / enduro, which is often excluded from standard policies;
• Baggage cover.

The policy included in the package covers only the enduro activity within the limits stated in the Liability Waiver signed on Day 1. It does not replace the recommended individual travel insurance.

10. How to request a cancellation or date transfer

All requests must be made in writing through our official channels: bookings@enduroadventureportugal.com or WhatsApp +351 964 283 600.

The request must state the booking holder’s full name, the package booked, the original date, the reason and, for a transfer, the preferred new date. The effective communication date is the date on which the company receives the request.

11. Refund processing time

Where a refund is due, it will be processed within 14 working days after formal approval of the request, using the same payment method as the original booking. Bank charges or currency conversion fees incurred during the refund may be deducted from the refunded amount.

12. Applicable law and consumer rights

12.1. No 14-day withdrawal right

Under Article 17(1)(l) of Portuguese Decree-Law no. 24/2014 of 14 February, the 14-day withdrawal right does not apply to contracts for leisure services scheduled for a specific date or period.

12.2. Legal framework

This policy respects consumer rights under applicable Portuguese law, including Law no. 24/96, Decree-Law no. 24/2014, Decree-Law no. 108/2009 and Decree-Law no. 17/2018, where applicable.

13. Dispute resolution

In the event of a dispute, the client may use Portugal’s Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms; the official list is available at consumidor.gov.pt. The competent courts are the courts of the District of Viana do Castelo, Portugal.

14. Changes to this policy

Enduro Adventure Portugal may change this Refund and Cancellation Policy. Changes take effect when they are published on the official website. The version applicable to a booking is the version in force on the date the deposit is paid, unless a later change is more favourable to the client.
